It proposes practices and policies to create ecological, democratic, and healthy cities. Our mission, vision, and values make MUEC a key player in the transformation of public space by and for citizens.

Sustainable Calgary

Sustainable Calgary (SC) is a citizen-led, non-profit organization started in 1996. Inspired by the work of Sustainable Seattle, Sustainable Calgary promotes, encourages, and supports community-level actions and initiatives that move Calgary towards a sustainable future. SC is working for the long-term health and vitality of its city and its citizens with regard to ecological, social, cultural, and economic processes to create the first sustainable city in Canada.

The Centre for Active Transportation (TCAT) was formed in 2006 to give a unified voice to the many groups working for a better cycling and pedestrian environment in Toronto. TCAT has a vision of vibrant cities with clean air, a healthy population and a transportation system that prioritizes walking and cycling. TCAT’s work advances knowledge and evidence to build support for safe and inclusive streets for walking and cycling.
